Video showing a concrete drum!!!!!
A short video showing what happens inside a concrete drum and what it looks like! the concept was originally drawn by Albert Einstein of his corkscrew invention, however the inside of the concrete truck drum is the reverse corkscrew he came up with. Remember whenever climbing on a concrete truck safety is a must. Cramped quarters and big moving parts! Stay safe and Hopefully this video useful!

Danielle telling me to f#ck off at 2 years old!!!!!
Thank you so much for these videos. I recently started a ready mix driver position. I am glad I found your videos. They are a big help. I am taking notes from them.
I'm a new driver, only my second day of training. This is the best ready mix video I've seen on all of UA-cam so far thank you.
I appreciate that!!!
I just started last month so I'm also new, how are you liking it so far? The first few days were very difficult for me trying to learn everything.
yep and the concreatures say soup it up no mater what slump
Thanks for the tips. Could you show how to operate the navigation device
No problem!
2:06 This drive way will crumble after a few years. No re-bar, no tensile strength.
Does the same ratio apply to light weight concrete ?
It does but there are variables, lightweight is mostly for upper decks so majority of the time in order to pump it high they will use a super plasticized mix or high range. Both of which changes the ratio
Never trust the slump Guage. Visualize your load!
What do you mean by fully charging at an idle like it’s on the fastest mode for charging ?
Drum fulling spinning while idling. Not revving up.
What are the working hours for ready-mix drivers? Can you give me examples?
Well it really depends on area, time of year and weather. Summer average would be 45-55. Winter time in a northern state would be 25-40
Having struggle with my slump. I'm trying to see how wvery slump looks.
You will eventually get to where you can listen to it and guess the slump as well. But take your time with it. It takes a while for everything to fall in place.
i was wondering how u were filming this and then i noticed your in a front discharge, i start knife river as a ready mix driver and i can't wait
My phone was in a cradle while in operation. Good luck!
Would ear plugs be a good idea, that sounds kind of loud?🤔 ☝🏻😌
Absolutely. If you have them wear them
Loading water into tank
You front discharge guys are crazy. I can’t imagine running my truck without a chute man. I’d rather do the job looking through my mirrors following hand signals than keep track of how much concrete is where on top of everything else.
Great video!
Student Driver Here, How high off the Ground you keep the shoot ? How do you pour if they want your drum to pour “fast”.
Best method with a rear discharge climb the ladder and look at it when you get to job depending on what customer wants add some water mix it up discharge a little if they like it good to go good rule of thumb is 10 gals per inch of slump but that depends on the mix lots of variables there ! 30 yrs on mixer! Retired now company still uses me to train when needed
General rule is 1 gallon per yard raises slump 1 inch.
Never take your hand off the water valve hah!!! Almost happened today.
Thank you for the video. I don’t understand when you say “5 yards at a 2 slump “. Does that mean upon the operator pouring the mix it’s already a 2 before you go to the slump rack to add water? Thank you
For instance the contractor ordered 5 yards at a 2 slump. So you slump to a 2 slump at the rack
Thanks for the video as I’m learning slump myself. I don’t understand the “5 yards at a 2 slump a 4 slump is needed Does that mean upon adding the mix the slump is already a 2?
Awesome and very informative video! I'm thinking about becoming a concrete mix driver and this was the most helpful video I've found. Subscribed!
Thanks alot! I have a few videos. Check them out
That`s retarder he`s spaying gives up to 20 extra min on broom work.
I’m not even a year into ready Mix driving but watching you makes me feel like I’m terrible at my job! This video for sure makes me strive to be better🫡
It's not hard once you get used to it. You got this!!!!
This was really helpful 👏 just started training this week and don't want "F" ,up being the only Woman 😑
You will be fine. Being a lady does not matter. Actually the majority of the time women take to it much quicker. Just demand respect and ask lots of questions. Watch my other videos, lots of info to see. Thanks for thw kind words and good luck! Keep us all updated on your progress!!!!
Thanks I will 👍
How heavy is your shoots???
How do you know what slump is????
Really informative thx
Phil, do you have any regrets about getting into this industry? I'm so torn about whether to get into this industry or not.
I really don't. Just keep in mind there are long days as well as rain and short days. It's not a physically hard job. Just have patience and be willing to learn
@@fabphil63068 Thank you so much for replying Phil. I've been hoping on all hope that you would. I seem to read so many negative job reviews for this line of work in addition to what is now the 2nd "glim" report put out by the NRMCA. Would you say its better to just put that stuff out of my head and accept the interview and go for it?
Your video had so much information and how to pour concrete and the level of slump very helpful.. thank you
Thanks for the kind words!!!!
another ripped off customer....no wire? hilarious
It's not on us to place wire. We are there to pour concrete
Post some videos of that plant.
This man is on point.
You front discharge ready mix guys make this too easy for the finishers. Would love to learn to drive one of these. Been rear discharge mixer driver for 16 years
I drove a rear for about a year. I find fronts are much easier for me as well.
I am 58. I have had a CDL for 15 years, but have never done ready mix. But on June 11th, I start a new job doing ready mix. Thank you for these tutorials.
Good for you bro! What company?
@@fabphil63068 Drake Ready Mix in Fort Myers, FLA. I am leaving a company that I have been with for 15 years (giving up 3 weeks of vacation to boot!) to become part of their team.
What is its girth
4 inches by 8 inches deep
Thanks needed to see this
What happens to your “pouring situations” video?
Still watching
good for you bro glad they helped
Up and I cannot I love
Thank you for your very helpful efforts. Stay blessed. Warm personal regards. Ansar
@4:40 Thank you...nothing like ordering 9cy for curb and gutter and having it delivered like rock soup.
Great video
These numbers are what a book says to raise slump. I've had 8 yrs at a 4 slump and have had to 15 gal to make it a 5" adding fiber or color also sucks up a lot of water. Plus how far away the job is and outside temp.
great video. i just started operating a front discharge mixer two weeks ago....i love it but have a lot to learn. ive definitely taken some tips from your video. feeding pumps is easy for me. i need to learn how to be more efficient when pouring slabs sidewalks and driveways.
Wish we had front pour trucks in my area
That guy must have been new to making cylinders. In the field you are making more than one cylinder at a time and you have to work faster than what was shown.
It was slower to show how it's done without concentrating on speed. I can do it much faster, but wanted to show every step.
Where does the concrete powder come from do you get the rocks there or shipping
ua-cam.com/video/eymDP1_oHbo/v-deo.html
Great video, thanks
Do you know how to prestress concrete of this size with rods and nuts?
